How to use Handwriting to Text

Meeting scribbles are notoriously messy. This handwriting preset favors curved strokes and softer gradients so your notebook sketches turn into clean, editable text. It excels with bold pen marks and evenly lit photos, letting you keep ideas moving instead of rewriting them at the end of the day. Lightweight smoothing keeps letters intact while still filtering noise from paper texture and shadow bands.

  1. Snap a photo of your handwritten notes, whiteboard, or tablet export and drop it into the uploader.
  2. Let the preset smooth and denoise the strokes. Progress updates will show once the handwriting model starts decoding.
  3. Scan the resulting transcript, fixing words the OCR is unsure about. The raw text remains editable in the output area.
  4. Copy the transcription or download the TXT file to archive it alongside project docs or share with teammates.

Keep your pen strokes separated and avoid lined paper if possible. The more contrast you can provide between ink and background, the less post-run cleanup you will need to do. If you capture whiteboards, wipe glare with a microfiber cloth first and snap a follow-up photo to confirm legibility.

FAQ

Any tips for better handwriting OCR?

Use a dark pen or marker with strong contrast, keep strokes separated, and photograph in even lighting for the cleanest transcription.

Will it read cursive?

Yes for moderately neat cursive. Extremely stylized writing may require minor manual cleanup after export.

Can I export markdown?

Download the raw text and paste it into your notes or docs. Formatting is kept minimal for quick cleanup.

Does it store my handwriting?

No. Everything runs locally in your browser so the handwriting image never leaves your laptop.
